Last fall I had the pleasure of taking Stacey's daughter Abby's senior portraits. The three of us had such a fun time that afternoon, and I was so happy when Stacey contacted me about shooting her and David's wedding. As Stacey and I talked I grew more and more excited. Her wedding sounded wonderful - outdoor, relaxed, intimate. I knew it would be beautiful, and I was so excited to get to witness it. Dear friends of Stacey opened their beautiful home for the wedding and were there to help with every little detail. It was so personal, so beautiful and so heartwarming. I guess I have babbled on enough. Let's get on to the good part!
I had to smile when I saw this sign marking the drive.
And just a little farther down the drive this one...
As soon as I got to the house, I knew it was going to be wonderful. I loved all the quilts on the hay bales.
Absolutely loved the dress.
But I fell in love with the shoes!
Stacey getting a little help into these gorgeous shoes. A little Cinderella moment. ;-)
David looking dashing.
And Stacey looking stunning.
Ty served as best man. I love this moment between him and his mom.
Stacey and David chose to see each other before the ceremony. I told David to stand behind this tree before I had Stacey come out of the house. I just love this.
And a little peek...
Abby was her mom's maid of honor. They look like sisters. Just beautiful!
Finally it was time! Stacey looking so happy as she walked down the aisle.
A few favorites from the ceremony.
And the new family.
A kiss for mom and we were off for some portraits of the happy couple.
The grounds were perfect and the wedding ended just as the sun was setting.
A stop at the chicken coop.
And a visit with the cows.
And since it's all about the details.
The reception was in the backyard at the pool house. What better spot for a summer evening in Tennessee?
Stacey and David, thank you for letting me share in your wonderful day. I am just so happy for you both. I wish you a long a joyful life together.
I worked a little this weekend. Well, I don't know if I should call it work when it is this much fun. I met Kristi and Brandon Saturday afternoon for their engagement shoot. I have to admit I had really been looking forward to it. I mean it's not every day I have a shoot at the main fire station and get to use the ladder truck as my main prop!
We had so much fun! I knew that Kristi was looking forward to their engagement shoot, but I think Brandon enjoyed it more than he thought he would.
As we chatted I asked how they met. Brandon told me that he went into the sporting goods store where Kristi works. I asked if he came in for a pair of running shoes and it was love at first sight? It wasn't running shoes, but a baseball mitt. I asked if he asked her out right then. Brandon confessed that it took several more trips and about $500 in sporting equipment purchases before he got up the nerve to ask Kristi out on a date. What did they do on their first date? They watched a movie at the firehouse. Love that!
Love these two in front of the bay. Makes me think of her coming by work to visit her fireman.
We were actually getting ready to leave and were in the back of the fire station when I had the idea for this one. It's one of my very favorites.
When we finished up at the firehouse, we headed out to the country. We used a farm that I have used many times before, but I found a new favorite spot.
Kristi and Brandon, I hope you enjoy the little preview! There are many more to come! I can't wait until your wedding next month!
This weekend I was blessed to be present when Stacey and David said I do.
Today they are on a beach in Jamaica, but I am getting to re-live their beautiful wedding. I cannot wait to share more photos from it. So unique and beautiful.
Congratulations! I am so happy for both of you!
Some posts are just intimidating. Intimidating because the people in them are just so special to me. Jennifer came into our lives probably 6 years ago. I cannot remember the exact day, but I know it was before Stewart was born and he will turn 5 years old this weekend. She was our babysitter then, and she watched Elizabeth and Molly during the day while I was in the hospital with Stewart. At the time she was in high school and was working part-time for my husband, Chris. She has grown to be a dear friend to our family. That is why I was so excited about her engagement to her Chris. I was even more excited when she asked me to take their engagement photos.
Our original location didn't work out, and I think that was for the best. Jennifer had told me she wanted flowers, and I had driven past these flowers just a few days before. They were in front of my friend, Amy's, farm and I knew that she wouldn't mind. We were literally on the side of the highway with cars passing at 55 MPH, but you would never know it. These two are just so much in love!
There are just so many from their session that I love. They both told me that they weren't photogenic, but I would have to disagree.
Jennifer and Chris' story is a lot like mine and my Chris'. They were friends before they were a couple. I think that can make for an even stronger relationship.
I mean could they be any cuter?
Jennifer was such a good sport even though we were all three itching like crazy after the shoot.
Love this one.
And this one among many others.
I really don't know if I could pick an absolute favorite. They just made it too difficult, but this is definitely a front runner.
Jenn and Chris, I am so, so happy for you! I cannot wait until your wedding this December! Love you!
